A Way To Reduce Scars From Cosmetic Surgery Procedures Unveiled

Added By admin on October 21st, 2009

October, 21, 2009, Scarring is often a major downside to many common cosmetic surgery procedures. Although most scars will disappear over 12 to 18 months, about a third or so of scars tend to be permanent on one’s body, as many patients of cosmetic surgery are being left with unsightly marks and/or a hard raised ridge of tissue, which is a common reminder of one’s cosmetic plastic surgery procedure.

The impact of these scars can be quite distressing for people, especially if they are on everyday visible parts of one’s body such as the face, neck, legs, or arms. Some recent surveys have shown that many people, who have undergone a cosmetic surgery or a routine surgery, were unhappy with the scarring left behind post surgery. More

Miss Plastic Hungary Honors Unnatural Beauty

Added By admin on October 9th, 2009

BUDAPEST, Hungary — It was a night for unnatural beauties.

October 9, 2009, Contestants showed off breast implants, nose jobs and face lifts as Miss Plastic Hungary 2009 strove to promote the benefits of plastic surgery in a country where artificial enhancements are viewed mostly with a wary eye.

“I think this competition is long overdue,” said photographer Marton Szipal, one of the pageant judges. “Hungarians used to laugh about plastic surgery but it’s time for Hungarian women to care more about their appearance. They are the most beautiful in Europe.” More

Plastic Surgery May Also Ease Migraines

Added By admin on September 2nd, 2009

September 2, 2009, MANY of the nearly 30 million Americans who suffer from migraines end up feeling like guinea pigs. Chronic patients — those who are laid low 15 or more days a month — often cycle through drug after drug in search of relief. They also contend with side effects like mental sluggishness and stomach upset. Treatment involves guesswork because doctors have not pinpointed what causes migraines, nor do they know which drugs will best help which patients.

“It can be a merry-go-round going from medication to medication in pursuit of control,” said Dr. Roger K. Cady, the vice president of the board for the National Headache Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to patient education. More

Cosmetic Surgery Fat Grafts Help Facial Trauma Victims

Added By admin on August 18th, 2009

August 18, 2009, Cosmetic surgery fat grafts may offer new hope and help to facial trauma victims, or those with congenital facial abnormalities, according to a recent report.

Fat injections for facial trauma patients. The practice of fat grafting is most often employed among cosmetic surgeons as a way to make the face appear younger by adding more volume, so the technique is well known and commonly used. But a new report in the latest journal edition of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons says the technique is also viable for people with facial trauma or malformation. More

Asian Men Lead in Cosmetic Surgery Increase

Added By admin on August 17th, 2009

August 17, 2009, Last year, Frank Chang spent about $1,500 on non-surgical cosmetic procedures. This year, the 35-year-old Chinese American may go a step farther.

“I may be getting a lift for my eyes,” said Chang. “The reason I am not doing it yet is because I am a bit afraid of the pain.”

Chang said if he were happy with the results, he would continue to do more surgical procedures “in a healthy way.”

Chang is one of an increasing number of Asian-American men defying a cultural stigma to engage in cosmetic surgery in order to improve their appearances. Experts say what is motivating men to seek plastic surgery may be the need to raise their chances of surviving a job market that is increasingly favorable of younger workers, and to be competitive in romantic relationships.
