Cosmetic Surgery on Her Buttocks Aides in Death of Beauty Queen

December 01, 2009, Buenos Aires, Argentina – 38 year-old beauty queen and former Miss Argentina, Solange Magnano, has died from complications after undergoing cosmetic surgery on her buttocks.

A mother of twins, Solange Magnano won the Miss Argentina crown in 1994, died on Sunday of a pulmonary embolism after being left in critical condition for three days following a buttock augmentation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. More

Cosmetic Surgery to be Taxed with New Senate Health care Bill

November, 20, 2009, San Diego, CA. The United States Senate’s version of the new health care reform bill, has been introduced by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), which will include a new 5 percent tax on elective cosmetic surgery procedures.

Senator Reid unveiled the new bill, which is expected to cost United States taxpayers approximately $848 billion, while extending coverage to more than 94 percent of Americans and insure 31 million more of the uninsured.

“We can’t afford to overlook what this is really about,” said Reid. “More accurately, we can’t afford to overlook who this is all about.” More

“Mommy Makeover” Study Presented in Turkey by Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Doctor

Los Angeles, CA, November 10, 2009, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon Dr. Grant Stevens recently traveled to Istanbul, Turkey to deliver a keynote speech in order to present his study’s findings about the safety and efficacy of combining breast augmentation with a tummy tuck (abdominoplaty) at the 13th Annual Congress of the Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Stevens presented his findings of a comprehensive retrospective review of 268 combined cosmetic plastic surgery procedures that were performed at his cosmetic plastic surgery practice, Marina Plastic Surgery Associates, between 1997 and 2007. The study was published in the March/April 2009 issue of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and found that combining a breast enhancement surgery and a tummy tuck in Los Angeles, commonly known as a “mommy makeover”, is a safe and effective cosmetic surgery option.
