06.02.2010 – According to a new Harris Interactive survey, plastic surgery in America shows a rise in interest, but a decline in the number of Americans that actually go through with a desired cosmetic surgery procedure.
The online survey polled 2,148 adults to gauge their interest in plastic surgery. Out of the respondents, more than two-thirds of the people said they would choose to undergo cosmetic surgery if they didn’t have any financial restrictions to do so. September 11, 2009 – According to a new market research report by ReportLinker.com, they forecast that the global market for cosmetic surgery services will reach the $40 Billion mark by the year 2013, up from $31.7 Billion in 2008, for a compound annual growth rate of 5.2%.
The study suggests that the global market for cosmetic products in this market segment is much smaller, and estimated to reach about $7 Billion in revenues in 2013, up from $4.4 Billion in 2008, with a compounded annual growth rate of 9.5%. The largest demographic group for those who have had a cosmetic surgery procedure in the U.S. in 2007 was made up of people from the ages of 40 to 54, comprised of approximately 5.5 million procedures, while the second largest group was for those 55 and older, which comprised of about 3.1 million procedures. February 9, 2009, In spite of the turbulent economy in 2008 and the gloomy outlook presented by financial analysts and economic experts, Americans may still be fueling a few spending streaks in 2009. The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) is predicting a significant increase in demand for certain types of cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, in addition to trends where consumers are prepared to ‘try’ new and innovative procedures entering the market.
In a December 2008 press release, the ASAPS highlights the increasing growth and popularity of cosmetic fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm and Evolence, especially as more injectable fillers enter the market. Reloxin, an alternative to Botox, has been under FDA review and may be the latest competition for Botox and other wrinkle removal treatments. More

June 26, 2008 — In a recent study in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, published by the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), they predict more than 55 million cosmetic surgery procedures will be performed in 2015.
This data more than quadruples the number of cosmetic procedures performed in 2005, the study notes. Pushing this growth along is an increasing consumer awareness, direct marketing and advertising, as well as multiple technological advances in non-surgical cosmetic enhancement options, according to the study.
