Shirley Manson Debates Plastic Surgery on her Facebook

09.07.2010 – Shirley Manson, the lead singer of popular band, Garbage, has had a very successful music career with 5 iconic albums and many music hits synonymous with movies like James Bond film The World Is Not Enough.

Now, as the singers reaches her mid 40s, Manson is contemplating getting some cosmetic surgery in order to compete in the modern world.

Shirley Manson recently posted on her Facebook, asking her fans what they think she should do.

Okay so……
Here is a question and I pose it to you all because I am somewhat confused.

Let me first state my position:
I am at odds with plastic surgery, botox, filler and surgical enhancement.
Meanwhile………
Almost everyone I know is at it.

I am 44 years old.
That is ANCIENT in the world of entertainment.
That is even older in the world of music.

I feel like if I stay true to myself
I am screwing myself out of a job.

And yet……
I look at my heroines…..
None of them look younger than they are.
They all look their age.

And yet…..
All of my friends……..most of whom are either my age or younger
talk about what they have done or what they want to have done or what they are going to do
to cheat age and therefore attempt to cheat death.

I suspect all my aging but augmented friends are feeling sorry for me
and thinking what a glorious career I could have
if only I would start to lie to myself
and everyone else

I am confused.
Deeply confused.

Please help me process or understand.
